Johannesburg, 27 November 2024 – The SEIFSA Training Centre, which is run in partnership with Thuthukisa, showcased its Incubation Hub and celebrated its students at its Annual Prize-Giving ceremony on Wednesday, November 27 at its premises in Benoni.

Visitors took part in a special tour of the premises after students were awarded prizes for their hard work. The open day provided visitors with a chance to see how the Training Centre has grown since it’s relaunch two years ago.

Along with awards for the best artisan and best improved apprentice, the day’s programme also included a welcome from SEIFSA CEO Lucio Trentini, a keynote address from Invincible Valves MD Pam du Plessis and testimonials presented by past students.

The SEIFSA Training Centre has far-reaching aims, which Rajendra Rajcoomar, a Director at Thuthukisa described as “taking the youth out of unemployment and teaching them the skills to become youth entrepreneurs”.

The SEIFSA Training Centre, which underwent a transformation two years ago, is run in partnership with Thuthukisa, a specialist advisory, consulting, project management and skills programme company. The Centre, which used to be an old-style training centre focused mostly on apprenticeships, now offers high-end artisan training as well as helping newly qualified trainees to set up businesses themselves as a way to counter sector’s dwindling ability to absorb workers.

“We offer our clients integrated offerings in the fields of skills development, BBBEE and human capital. We can customise programmes to meet the unique needs of our various clients, their employees, and stakeholders,” says Rajcoomar.

The Training Centre also offers accredited learnerships, short courses in engineering, safety, artisan, technical, production, management, services, and related non-technical disciplines.

“We understand the importance of accreditation and partnerships with the Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs), which is why we ensure that our programmes are of the highest quality standards,” says Rajcoomar.
